Owing to the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf
Stream, Finland's climate is temperate. Summer in Finland is
warm, bright and exhilarating. Winter, on the other hand, is
dark and can be very cold.
The daytime temperature in June–August
is usually between +15 and +25°C, and in June the weather is
mostly sunny. However, it may rain, so be sure to pack warm
clothing and an umbrella.
The sun remains continuously above
the horizon for several weeks during midsummer; this is when
you can see the midnight sun! In wintertime, the temperature
can drop to as low as –40°C, so warm, heavy winter clothes
are essential.
