Martinniemi summer festival at the Kurtinhauta fishing harbour 14.7 from 12 noon to 3 PM. The free-of-charge event is an outdoor festival for the whole family, providing a chance to dine and spend a carefree day by the sea. The event takes place at the Martinniemi fishing harbour. The view consists of the old sawmill buildings on one side, and of the Bay of Bothnia on the other.

To commemorate the municipal merger, a keynote speech will be delivered by city council member Samuli Pohjamo from Martinniemi. With summery music playing, the village association will announce the "Marttilainen of the Year". Salmon chowder from Martinniemi will be served, along with a variety of refreshments.

Jokeri Pokeri Box, i.e. magician Simo Aalto, will be performing for children. A chance to ride ponies or carriages drawn by ponies.

A fishing competition for "the world's fastest angler", open to all ages, is held by the shore. The anglers will be timed: who is the quickest to have a fish on the line? Rods and baits will be provided by the wilderness and fishing society Martinniemen Erä- ja Kalakerho.

The event is organised by the village association Martinniemen kyläyhdistys, which has brought the people of Martinniemi together since 1985. The summer festival unites current inhabitants of Martinniemi with former ones, along with their friends. Along the years, there have been visitors from all corners of the world, from as far as Australia.
