Matila's house was relocated from the corner of Kirkkokatu and Nummikatu to the island of Pikisaari in 1983.

There were 14 layers of wallpaper covering a wooden bedroom wall. 24 separate wallpaper samples were taken from the furthest room in the house. The samples were dated from the 1870s to the 1960s.
