Our fares are 10 % cheaper from 1 January to 30 April 2023

Passenger transport including public transport rides in Finland are temporarily relieved from VAT liability. The applied VAT rate concerning passenger transport has been 10%. We have reduced our fares accordingly.

The prices listed on this English site do not apply from 1 January to 30 April 2023. Please see the table of reduced fares on our Finnish web site. However, the value ticket fares are not reduced.

Other changes starting from 1 January 2023

Service fee when you load new season or value to your Waltti travel card on bus has been incread from 2.20 €/load to 3.00 €/load.

At night, between 23:00 and 04:30, double fare is no longer charged for single mobile tickets.

Timetables of routes 29, 29M, 35K, 50, 51, 52, 54 and 54B have changed. Updated timetables are available online, go to the journey planner.

The new name of A-city zone is Lähi, shortly L. The L zone is included in zone A free of charge, but there are cheaper tickets for the L zone.

The Citybus network has been extended

The citybuses have a new name and are now called in Finnish "Lähibussi".

A new citybus route D started operation on 1 January. Thre are now two citybuses, C and D, which run from the cityhall to Limingantulli. The route D runs through western site of the city whereas the route C uses the eastern side of the city to run to the same destination.

Pohde logo.The reform of health, social and rescue services    

Healthcare, social welfare, and rescue services will move from the responsibility of the City of Oulu to the wellbeing services county of North Ostrobothnia (Pohde) from the beginning of 2023. Read more about the reform (pohde.fi)
