Guided tours

Guided tours of the Luuppi museums and the science centre are a great way to get more out of your visit. Whether you visit the art museum, one of the historical museums, the Stone Age village or one of our open air museums, guided tours provide more information about the destination and the subject at hand and give you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the attractions and the exhibitions with an expert. "I have been here many times by myself, but you definitely get more out of it when there’s an expert guiding you", one customer said after a guided tour.

Guided tours for groups are available in all Luuppi destinations. If your group is bigger than 30 people, it is usually a good idea to book two guides. The duration of the guided tours is generally approximately one hour.

When booking your guided tour please let us know if you have any wishes concerning your tour, and we'll adapt the tour to your requirements. Tailored guided tours to the worlds of science, art and local history are great for making meetings, theme days and company outings more memorable. Let us know how long you can spend in our destinations, whether you want a guided tour for the entire destination or just a specific part of an exhibition, or if you are interested in a particular theme. Maybe you want to hear about the history of one of our museums? You are also welcome to ask questions and make suggestions – we are here for you! Many of our destinations also offer activities and workshops where participants can enjoy doing things together.

Please also let us know of any other matters such as mobility limitations that need to be taken into account when planning your tour. Most of our destinations are accessible on a wheelchair. Please ask our staff for more information about the accessibility of individual destinations and exhibits.

Information about guided tours open for all visitors is also posted in our social medial channels.

We are often asked about photographing in our museums. The answer is yes, you can do that. However, please note that flashes and tripods are not allowed. When posting your pictures to social media you can use the hashtags #luuppi and #oulunluuppi to get our attention.
