The summer season of public libraries in Oulu begins on Saturday, 3.6., and ends on Sunday, 27.8. This affects the library opening hours. Many libraries have shorter opening hours, and some libraries are only available for self-service use during the summer. You can check the library opening hours on the library's website or the OUTI Web Library.

Asema Library is closed until August 9th.

Hiukkavaara Library has self-service access only 3.–22.6. and is completely closed 23.6.–9.8.

Kaukovainio Library is closed for renovations 29.4.–9.8.

Jääli, Kello, Martinniemi, and Pateniemi Libraries have self-service access only 3.6.–9.8.

A valid OUTI library card and PIN are required to enter the library on self-service hours. There is no customer service during self-service hours.

The mobile libraries Kauno and Onneli operate according to the summer schedules. Both mobile libraries have a break 3.–30.7. The schedules for the mobile libraries can be found on the library's website.

On Friday before Midsummer’s Eve on 22.6., the libraries open no later than 10 and close by 16. During the Midsummer weekend 23.–25.6., the libraries are closed, and the mobile libraries do not operate. Self-service libraries can be visited throughout Midsummer.
