Oulu City Library consists of the main library and 13 branch
libraries, located in various parts of Oulu. You can read,
listen to music and participate in various events in the
library.
You can obtain a library card by presenting proof of
identity. You can use your library card to borrow books,
audio books, magazines, music and films free of charge. The
library collection contains literature in 77 languages.
Magazines and newspapers are available in 17 languages.
The librarians are happy to help you with any requests,
including help with locating books, audiovisual material or
information. You can access the library database at any time
via the Internet.
Oulu City Library organises a diverse range of activities,
including author and expert visits, exhibitions and
literature clubs. Other regular activities include story
hours and book talks.
The main library and all branch libraries provide access
to the Internet. You can also access the Internet on your
own computer through the wireless
panOULU network.

explains the operational principles of the public libraries
in Finland. The brochure is available in 16 languages
