Libraries and Mobile Libraries

Oulu City Library has a loanable collection located in the Senior Service Centre (Keskustan palvelukeskus) cafeteria in the city centre. The collection is regularly updated.

The collection is available for all service centre's customers and for those who have a valid service centre customer card.

All books borrowed from the service centre cafeteria collection must be returned there. Materials borrowed from elsewhere must not be returned to the Senior Service Centre collection.

There is a bookcase located at Oulu Swimming Pool in Raksila, in the address Pikkukankaantie 3. Customers may use the bookcase during opening hours of the swimming pool. The cabinet holds about 175 books. The small collection includes books for kids, teens and adults. Oulu City Library maintains the cabinet and is in charge of updating the materials. 

To borrow materials you need a valid OUTI library card and the PIN attached to it. You can borrow books by distance authentication that utilizes RFID technique. The books have identification tags. The automatic system identifies books that are being borrowed and books that are being returned. The loan period for all materials is 14 days. You can view the bookcasecollection and renew your loans in the OUTI Web Library. You can return books to the bookcase at the swimming pool or to any OUTI Library. You can return only materials that you have loaned from the bookcase to the bookcase.
