Fishing

Fishing is a fun hobby for the whole family that you can do it all year round also in Oulu. Fishing regulations must be followed when fishing.

The city of Oulu owns 6,500 hectares of water areas, of which approximately 5,600 hectares are comprised of sea area and river delta. The most important inland waters are the Oulujoki and Sanginjoki rivers, Lake Pyykösjärvi, Lake Valkiaisjärvi and Lake Niilesjärvi. In Ylikiiminki, Lake Ahmasjärvi is owned by the city.

Hartaanselkä special fishing area 2c is a popular salmon fishing area in Merikoski near the city center.

Slipways in Oulu

Taskisenranta, Rajahauta, Raatti, Hollihaka, Laanilanranta, Värttö, Tarhurintie, Saarela, Juurusoja, Hietasaaren Vaakunakylä, (Toppilansaari). In addition, privately maintained slipways include, for example, OTPS and Telakkasäätiö Boat berths in Hietasaari.
