Liberal Adult Education and Art Education

Liberal adult education offers all-round education that is hobby-oriented and societal. The studying varies from evening studies to full-time short courses or intensive courses. Oulu-opisto is a liberal adult education institution administered by the city of Oulu where you can study and practice for example art and practical subjects, languages, music and exercise. 

Basic education of art is art education provided in local art education institutions and which is tied to the national curricula. Nine different branches of art can be studied in the basic art education (architecture, visual arts, media arts, music, handicrafts, literary arts, circus, dance and theatre). 

There are three institutions providing basic education of art in Oulu: Oulu Conservatory, Oulu Art School and Oulu-opisto's art school UPIA.
