The ECEC centre is located in the Kastelli district. In addition to the ECEC centre, the building houses a comprehensive school, upper secondary school, upper secondary school for adults, library and youth facilities. The sports facilities can also be used by groups.

N.B! Communication between families and groups mainly takes place through eVaka.
We organise preschool education in the groups of Tarinatorppa and Satusalonki.
Research classes in pre-primary and primary education (6–8-year-olds) begin in the autumn after the autumn holidays. During the research lessons, we work collaboratively around a jointly agreed theme. Research classes are held once a week. Depending on the theme, the duration of one researcher hour period is 6–10 weeks.
We follow both the national and Oulu’s own Curriculum for Pre-primary Education in our daily work.
Our ECEC centre is one of the users of the Kastelli community centre, together with comprehensive school, upper secondary school, upper secondary school for adults, youth services, library and sports services.
The starting point for the development of our operating culture is the common path of growth and learning "Kastelli for all", where children can function, grow and develop as their own unique individual and member of the community.
We emphasize the practice of emotional and interaction skills, sustainable future-oriented activities (Green Flag activities) and STEAM pedagogy.
Children are encouraged to think and be independent by offering suitably challenging activities.
