N.B! Communication between families and groups mainly takes place through eVaka.
We organize preschool education in Meritähdet and Merihevoset groups. The groups operate on the Kiviniemi school side.
We offer preschool education and implement close cooperation with the school. We develop pedagogy for 5–8-year-olds under the guidance of contact teachers at ECEC centre and schools.
The focus areas of preschool education are functional learning, as well as emotional and interaction skills. We are a Half Day in the Yard ECEC centre, so we are expanding our operating environment to nearby areas. We hike regularly.
We follow both the national and Oulu’s own Curriculum for Pre-primary Education in our daily work.
Our ECEC centre is located in Kiviniemi, Kello, a stone's throw from the seashore. Our ECEC centre has seven groups. Our ECEC centre is located in a scenic location. Local nature and the seaside offer a diverse pedagogical environment. Preschool education takes place on school premises. We work in close cooperation with Kiviniemi School.
Children as active participants in a familiar and homelike environment
The most important cornerstones of the ECEC centre's operating culture are caring and warm interaction. Educators see the child as an active participant. In our operations, we emphasise small group pedagogy and sensitive interaction. Every child gets to shine as they are.
Our activities place special emphasis on small group pedagogy and sensitive interaction. The educator always has time to descend to the level of the child and respond to the child's emotion. The lack of urgency is also reflected in the fact that time is given to finish games and activities, and a sense of urgency is not created. Together, we rejoice in children's successes. We also listen carefully to parents' thoughts and wishes.
