Laanila High School
Our Commitment to Education
At Laanila High School, providing a well-rounded education to young people is a heartfelt mission, driven by our passion for science, art, skills, and humanity. We foster a homely and encouraging atmosphere where students are supported every step of the way. Our commitment to their success includes homework workshops, remedial teaching, and physical exercise.
Traditions and Values
With a long-standing tradition as a UNESCO school, our values are reflected in daily activities. Students engage in international projects, human rights work, and sustainable development initiatives. Global responsibility and humane values are integral to our school culture. Our solar power panels produces electricity ethically and locally, contributing to a sustainable future.
Location and Community
Located near the city center of Oulu, the Capital of Culture 2026, our school is home to 410 students and 25 dedicated teachers. We proudly graduate around 100 students each year. The strength of our school lies in our strong team spirit, evident in the active participation of students in promoting sustainable development and engaging in student body and tutor activities.

Why Participate in Student Exchanges?
Student exchanges provide authentic experiences of the languages and cultures of different countries. They offer the chance to make lifelong friends and create unforgettable memories, all while ensuring safety with other young people from Oulu and Europe, and host families in the destination country.
