Ready – Set – Read! Challenges

The Ready – Set – Read! Challenges are the heart of the Reading City campaign. They encourage readers of all ages to get their literacy skills in shape before the reading celebration year of 2026. The Ready – Set – Read! Challenge develops the joy and skills of reading with low-threshold tasks.

The Ready – Set – Read! Challenges include four different challenge sets: for adults, work communities, school children and families, early childhood education and preschool.

Readers of all skill levels are welcome to come along and get in better reading shape. Literature can be enjoyed in many ways: by picking up a printed book, listening to audiobooks or by reading online texts. The Ready – Set – Read! Challenges encourage people to read and promote their literacy skills.

Printing and folding

Print double-sided on A4 paper. You can also print it in black and white. There are two different versions for different types of printers.

Fold the paper in three sections: one side will be narrower than the other two. Leave the challenge lists on the inside and leave the cover on top. See the photo below for instructions.

Folding instructions. Fold the sides against the back cover.
