Preschool education
We organise preschool education in the Riekot group.
We follow both the national and Oulu’s own Curriculum for Pre-primary Education in our daily work.
Our ECEC center
Operating since 1997, the Riekonmarja is a ECEC center maintained by the City of Oulu in the Herukka district, which is dominated by detached houses. The premises of our ECEC center are pleasantly bright. Each group of children has its own entrance to the group rooms. The hall of our ECEC center enables children to engage in diverse sports moments and games. Our ECEC center is located near the forest, so its use for outdoor activities, hiking, exercise and exploration is a natural part of our ECEC center's operations. In the yard area of the ECEC center, the so-called. The forest part allows children to play nature and exercise games every day.
Mission statement
Our ECEC center's operations emphasise genuine presence for children. We observe and listen to children, responding to their needs. At our ECEC centre, play can be seen and heard. Play is given time, peace and space. According to floor pedagogy, we work at the level of a child.
