Library opening hours, summer 2025

The summer opening hours of libraries are during 31.5.-31.8.2025. Opening hours are reduced in many libraries for the summer. There are also periods during the summer when some libraries only have self-service hours, or the library is closed completely for some time in the summer. You can see the opening hours of your local library on the library website or the OUTI Web Library.

Pekuri Library will close on 30.6.2025. Oulu Central Library Saari will open in November 2025. 
Reservations with the Pekuri Library as their pick-up library will be transferred to a temporary reservation pick-up point, Mobile Library Onneli, which will be parked next to Mannerheim Park on Kirkkokatu from Monday to Thursday at 14–19 and Friday at 10–15. Onneli will move near the Central Library Saari by the end of August. The exact date will be announced later.

Midsummer weekend also affects the opening hours of libraries and the schedules of mobile libraries.

Self-service libraries can be accessed with a valid OUTI library card and PIN. Libraries do not have customer service during self-service hours.

You can check your loans and their due dates, reservations and their last pick-up dates, and customer information in the OUTI Web Library or the library's customer service. Reservations can be frozen, i.e. temporarily suspended without losing your place in the reservation queue, so that the reservation will not be available for collection, e.g. during a holiday. You can also change the pick-up library of your reservations. Reservations transferred from closed libraries to other libraries for collection will not be transferred back to the pick-up library when they open again.
