Colorful Restaurant Brings the Flavours of the World to Oulu

The popular Colorful Restaurant pop-up event will return on Saturday 14 November at Pohjankartano School from 11:00 to 15:00. Home cooks from 25 different countries will take part, offering more than 200 different dishes, treats and drinks. Tastings from different food cultures will take visitors on a unique culinary journey around the world.

“At the event, home cooks get to showcase their skills and bring a taste of their home countries to visitors through delicious flavours. Small samples are available for just one or two euros, and for five euros you can already enjoy a small meal,” says Mia Lindberg, Planner at Villa Victor, warmly welcoming everyone to the event.

Interest in the event has grown year after year. Nearly 70 home cooks applied through the open call, but only 25 representatives from different countries could be selected to take part.

This time, the participating home cooks represent the following countries and cultures:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, China, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Singapore, Thailand, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine and Vietnam.
