Sámi Cultural Café at Villa Victor on Wednesday 4 November
Welcome to discover Sámi culture at Villa Victor’s Cultural Café on Wednesday 4 November from 15:00 to 18:00 at Oulu10 (Torikatu 10, ground floor).
The programme includes Sámi stories, music and an introduction to the Sámi languages.
“Visitors will have the opportunity to think about what their own Sámi name might be,” says Sigga-Marja Magga, Director of the Giellagas Institute at the University of Oulu, which is organising the café.
Mirka Kelahaara, Chairperson of Oulu Sámit ry, warmly welcomes everyone to the café:
“There will be lots of fun activities, including games and colouring activities. Make the most of this opportunity and come and discover Sámi culture. Coffee and traditional kampanisu pastries will also be served!”
Villa Victor organises Cultural Cafés as part of Oulu’s European Capital of Culture year programme, in cooperation with different language and cultural communities. The Sámi Cultural Café is organised in collaboration with Oulu Sámit ry, the Giellagas Institute at the University of Oulu and Oulu2026.
