Exercise for Babies and Toddlers
The youngest must exercise with an adult. Baby exercise is offered in the Värttö Exercise Hall, Raatti Swimming Pool’s fitness gym, and the Oulu Hall’s running tracks. There is no need to register beforehand.
Fall season September 1 – December 12, 2025 (not on week 43)
Spring season January 7 – May 13, 2026 (not on week 10)
Baby and toddler groups
Lapanen family groups
Join the free-of-charge Lapanen family exercise groups! The goal of the groups is to promote the wellbeing of children and families through exercise. There is no need to register beforehand.
Baby gym (for children who cannot walk yet)
- Mondays 9.30–10.15 in Värttö Exercise Hall’s dance studio (Kurkelankuja 2, Oulu)
A parent’s 30-minute exercise session with their baby. During the sessions, parents will strengthen their bodies and stretch their muscles, and the baby’s senses will be activated, and their development is supported with gentle exercises. Bring clothes you can move in and a gym mat, as well as a large towel or blanket for the baby.
Toddler gym (for children who can walk)
- Mondays 10.15–11.00 in Värttö Exercise Hall’s dance studio (Kurkelankuja 2, Oulu)
For one adult and one child. The gym session is an interactive moment for the adult and the child to move along with rhymes, songs and tricks. The session lasts about 30 minutes. Bring clothes you can move in.
Carriage hikes
Join the carriage hikes at the Oulu Hall (Ouluhallintie 20, Oulu; A building). A good hike guaranteed!
On Fridays at 12.30–13.30
On dates: Sept 19, Sept 26, Oct 17, Oct 24, Oct 31, Nov 7, Nov 14, Dec 5, and Dec 12.

Baby-parent fitness
Fitness gym sessions
On Thursdays at 10.00–11.00 in Raatti Swimming Pool’s fitness gym (Raatintie 2, Oulu)
Gym training with your baby. The baby can join you during the workout on their own cushion or in a safety seat at the parent’s responsibility.
