Exercise Groups for Immigrants
We organize exercise activities with our partners for immigrants of different ages around the year.
We offer activities in exercise groups and sport trials encouraging immigrants to exercise and find a suitable sport to pursue.
Guided Exercise and Sport Advice
Exercise Counselling
Exercise counselling is free-of-charge guidance on a lifestyle that promotes health. In counselling, you will receive tips on, for example, getting in shape, trying out and finding the right sports and exercise methods for you and improving your sleep and eating habits.

Fitness gym for women and girls
Mondays at 14.30–15.30, Linnanmaa Sport Centre’s gym
(Virkakuja 1, Oulu)
Guided session. Previous experience of gym practice is not needed. Suitable for beginners. Efficient gym training for the entire body. Free of charge.
Ball games for men New!
Wednesdays at 16.30–17.30, Linnanmaa Sport Centre's gym
(Virkakuja 1, Oulu) Starting from April 15.
Five sessions for men with immigrant background. We play different ball games. No previous experience with ball games is needed. Free of charge.
Nordic walking New!
Tuesdays at 14.30–15.30, Raatti Sport Centre
(Raatintie 2) Starting from April 21.
Free of charge Nordic walking group. Four sessions. We start from the Raatti Sports Centre. We will learn techniques and explore local nature while enjoying the outdoor air.
Dance
Thursday at 17.00-18.00, Linnanmaa Sport Centre (Virkakuja 1, Oulu).
Join an energetic dance course that is directed especially at immigrant women. This free-of-charge course offers a wonderful opportunity to move with the beat, learn new moves and meet new people in an inspiring atmosphere.
Swimming courses
OYS D Building’s swimming pool (Kiviharjuntie 5, Oulu). Meet in the lobby.
Girls (ages 13-19) at 15.00–15.45
Women at 15.50–16.35
Boys (ages 15+) and men on Wednesdays at 17.15-18.00. You must be at least 15 years old to participate.
