Housing Fair in Oulu began in a sunny atmosphere
The many diverse and sustainable housing solutions presented at the Fair have attracted builders, designers and people interested in urban development and architecture. Oulu’s Housing Fair especially highlights methods and ideas that develop one-family housing to be more sustainable and communal, as well as to better acknowledge life changes.
“The beautiful venue and interesting displays have gained positive feedback from visitors. Also, Oulu’s new landmark, the Hartaansilta Bridge, has been positively welcomed by both citizens of Oulu and visitors”, Housing Fair’s Project Director Hanna Mattila from the city of Oulu explains.
The venue’s accessibility has also garnered praise – the Oulu Regional Transport ticket included in the Fair ticket bought via the ticket store has made visits easy and environmentally friendly. More artists and activities for children
Every Thursday at the venue includes an artist evening. Stig performs on July 31, Yona on August 7, and Samuli Edelmann on August 17.
The Saturdays July 26 and August 2 are children’s days and will include programming for children. Oulu’s displays offer popular children’s fair maps and surprises for children who finish the tasks listed on the map.
The Oulu2026 Pavillion serves samples of the coming Capital of Culture year every week. Samples include high-wire acts, poetry and music.
The current Housing Fair in the embrace of the river delta in Hartaanselänranta, is the third Housing Fair organized in Oulu. The Housing Fair was organized in Niittyaro in 1976 and in Toppilansaari in 2005.
