Production support for Oulu Days events

The Oulun Päivät 2025 programme was once again enriched by events created by local residents and communities that were awarded discretionary production support. Nearly 40 events received support and brought activities and experiences to neighborhoods all around Oulu – in parks, cultural venues, courtyards, and community spaces. The programme included concerts, workshops, performances, and experiences for all ages, mostly free of charge.

The open call for Oulun Päivät 2025 production support received a total of 68 applications. A total of €35,000 in support was awarded and distributed among 39 events.

Funding decisions were made through an open call process. Applications were reviewed by a multidisciplinary panel of experts, including representatives from the City of Oulu’s cultural and youth services, the Multicultural Centre Villa Victor, and the Oulu Cultural Foundation.

The programme included both new initiatives and traditional Oulun Päivät events. The amount of support was determined on a case-by-case basis, according to the Oulun Päivät selection criteria as well as each event’s content and implementation plan.

Selection criteria:

  • Events distributed across various parts of the city
  • Innovative content as well as promotion of traditions
  • Consideration of diverse target groups
  • Open access to the public and primarily free of charge
