Tasks of the Immigration Council
The Immigration Council reinforces the participation and influencing opportunities of immigrants in municipal decision-making. Additionally, it improves the cooperation between immigrants, authorities, the economy, civil societies and all citizens of Oulu.
Immigration Council
- Reinforce the participation of immigrants in municipal decision-making.
- Prepares initiatives and motions to the City Board on matters concerning immigrants.
- Monitors the accessibility of services directed at immigrants, as well as the development of political matters regarding immigrants in the city.
- Promote cooperation between authorities, immigrants, the economy, civil societies and all citizens of Oulu. Also, it strives to increase authorities’ awareness about the diversity of immigrant communities.
