Citizens of Oulu get to vote in September on how the city will spend 500 000 €

The voting period lasts from September 7–27, 2026. The voting takes place on the Osallistu Oulu website. All citizens of Oulu (middle schoolers and older) get to vote. 

After the vote, the city will implement the proposals that received the most votes that fit into the 500 000 € budget. The results will be published on the Osallistu Oulu website in October once the votes have been calculated and checked.

The goal of participatory budgeting is to increase participation and influencing opportunities of citizens, as well as to reinforce dialogue between the city and its citizens. The city implements the selected proposals during 2027.
