The Defense Force’s Parade affects traffic and parking on the Merikoski Bridges and the Marketplace on Feb 13
The Kainuu Brigade’s recruits’ Military Oath is organized in Oulu on February 13 while celebrating the European Capital of Europe year.
On Friday, 1 130 recruits from Kainuu’s Jäger Batallion, Pohja’s Engineer Batallion, and Northern Finland’s Signaller Batallion will take their Military Oath at the Raatti Stadium in Oulu.
Roads to Pikisaari and Toivonniemi are closed
The march will arrive at the Merikoski Bridges and the Raatti Stadium at 13.00. Traffic is restricted and stopped for the duration of the march, approximately from 12.40–13.30, on the march path on Koskitie, Merikoski Bridges, and Raatintie. The roads to Pikisaari and Toivonnimei are fully closed. The march also affects matters such as bus routes briefly.
Equipment exhibition closes parking areas in the Marketplace
It is not permitted to park in Raatinsaari and Kuusisaari. It is not permitted to park on Koskitie between Merikoskenkatu–Kangaspolku. Due to the equipment exhibition, parking at the Markeplace’s parking areas and Rantakatu is not permitted. The Autoranta Parking Area can be used.
Parking at the Raatti Stadium is not permitted. The Raatti Sport Centre is used by the Defense Forces on the Military Oath Day. The Centre is not in customer use on that day. The parking area at the Oulu Hall is also reserved by the Defense Forces on the Military Oath Day until 13.00.
