Equal Cultural Services for All

12.03.2025

The Equal Oulu2026 project has published A guide to promoting diversity in cultural services. It provides fresh insights and engaging practical examples to enhance diversity and accessibility.

“There are plenty of guidelines available for promoting diversity and inclusion. This guide complements existing materials by offering practical tips and successful case studies,” says Project Manager Anna Litewka-Anttolainen from the Equal Oulu2026 project.

Inclusion enhances people's well-being, fosters trust in others, strengthens social cohesion, and helps prevent marginalization. However, lack of inclusion remains common, and communities must actively work toward equity.

Discriminatory structures must be identified and dismantled, skills to promote diversity must be improved, diverse voices should be boldly defended, safe spaces and opportunities must be created for everyone.

This guide was produced as part of the Equal Oulu2026 project, which aimed to promote diversity and strengthen the inclusion in Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu. The project was co-funded by the European Union.
