Summer Activities in Early Childhood Education Organized by the City of Oulu

30.04.2025

During the summer period (1.6.-31.8.2025), municipal daycare centers may combine their activities if necessary. Family daycare services will also be reduced. In July, most daycare centers will be closed, and services will be provided based on advance reservations in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act.

If a child is absent for at least six consecutive weeks during the summer period, no customer fee will be charged for the absence. Absences must be reported through eVaka. The absence survey will be open in eVaka from 5.-16.5.2025. Guardians have received detailed instructions through eVaka.

Absences of at least six consecutive weeks reported later will not entitle to a fee waiver except for special reasons. These include the parent's/parents' layoff, termination, sick leave, or the employer's action to postpone/change the annual leave.

More information and instructions for responding to the absence survey can be found on the website: Responding to the summer absence inquiry.

More information about summer month customer fees on the website: Daycare Customer Fees.
