Pre-primary Education Curriculum

Pre-primary education follows its own curriculum, which is based on the national core principles and the City of Oulu’s local guidelines for learning in pre-primary education. 
 

Child’s Personal Pre-primary Education Plan

A personal pre-primary education plan is prepared for every child starting pre-primary education. The plan is created together by the pre-primary teacher, the guardians, and the child. The purpose of the plan is to support the child’s success, growth, learning, and development of self-awareness. The plan records goals that support the child’s individual growth, learning, and well-being, the key pedagogical methods used to support the child. Child's strengths and interests are emphasized during the shared conversation.  

Guardians are entitled to at least two private discussions about the child’s personal pre-primary education plan during the school year.

The learning plan is recorded and stored in the electronic eVaka system.
