Turvaa tenaville Event

According to the Curriculum for Pre-primary Education, children in pre-primary education participate annually in the Turvaa Tenaville (“Safety for Children”) event. The event is organised in Oulu Hall in September or October. The exact schedule is announced to ECEC centres at the beginning of the autumn term.

Pre-primary groups participate in a two-hour guided tour, led by an event guide. During the event, various stations and experiences are set up throughout Oulu Hall. Children may, for example explore a police car, fire engine, ambulance, and snow-ploughing equipment. Children may try fingerprinting and practice moving in a smoke-filled room. There are traffic-related activities, guidance on how to make emergency calls, and instructions for being lost. There will also be guidance for using a cycling helmet.
