Franzén Park
The Franzén Park is a historically significant park in the Oulu city centre, right next to the Oulu Cathedral. It is located in the city district of Pokkinen, and it is circled by four streets: Torikatu, Kajaaninkatu, Kirkkokatu and Linnankatu. The park is named after the late poet and bishop Frans Mikael Franzén, whose statue overlooks the park's visitors around the year. The park is a significant site for Oulu's student culture as the Franzén statue is involved in the students' Vappu (May First) celebration rituals: the students place a white graduation cap on the sculpture as an opening ceremony for the festivities. The park was initially merely an open area in front of the cathedral, but was later renovated during the 1880s, a few years after the Franzén sculpture was mounted.

- A lawn area with pathways and a sculpture in the middle of the park.
- There are park benches along the pathways.
Water and Wastewater
There are no water points or a toilet in the area.
Power Outlets and Lighting
No electricity available for small-scale events. Event organizers must arrange electricity separately, if needed.
