Event Cooperation with the City

The city of Oulu supports event organizers through event cooperation. Cooperation with event organizers supports and contributes to the implementation of the goals and operational objectives of the city strategy. Event cooperation enables the realization of nationally and internationally attractive, original and high-quality events in Oulu. 

Companies, associations and communities organizing events in Oulu can apply for event cooperation. The grant is intended to support nationally significant events organized in Oulu and is elective in nature. When the grant is offered, the event’s content, quality and the deliberateness of activities are considered, as well as how the event supplements Oulu’s event offering and supports the goals of the City Strategy and the city’s visibility. 

Applications for event cooperation can be submitted all year round. Applications should be submitted at least six months before the event, but no later than two months before the event. Applications are processed four times a year – in March, June, September and December.

Cooperation event marketing

The city of Oulu advertises the events it supports and agrees on visibility at the event together with the event organizer. Pictures delivered by the event organizer will be utilized on info screens, outdoor signboards and social media channels. The city of Oulu needs a short description of the event and two pictures for event communications. 

  • Vertical photo, at least 1920x1080 px, jpeg or png 

  • Horizontal photo, at least 1080x1920 px, jpeg or png

Visibility is agreed separately with the event organiser. Visibility can be a photo or video on the event's social media channels, logo visibility in promotional materials, an advertisement in the handout or an advertisement of the city of Oulu in the event area. 

However, the minimum visibility of the City of Oulu at events is: 

  • A collaborative publication approved by the City of Oulu on the event's main social media channels 

  • City of Oulu logo or banner on the event website. 

  • City of Oulu logo on advertisements and posters in all marketing for the event 

  • City of Oulu visibility material in the event area
