Market Square and Toripakka

• The Market Square is primarily reserved for outdoor market trade use (especially in the summer months) 

• The outdoor market trade operations are primarily concentrated between 8.00 - 16.00, but there are evening operations as well every day 

• The Toriparkki parking area near the market square can be used as part of the event venue independently or as a part of the outdoor market 

• Padding or strong plywood must be used under lifts, skips and construction structures to prevent damage to the pavement 

• The pavement and equipment must be covered, or a protective mat must be placed under machinery to prevent possible damage or oil leaks for example 

• Lifts, manlifts and skips must be outlined with a protective fence 

• The event organizer is responsible for waste management and sanitation 

• Initial and final inspections will be conducted for events held in the Market Square 

• Railway station – 1,2 km 

• Bus station – 1,4 km 

• Oulu Airport – 14 km 

• Bus connections from Torikatu 

• Parking in the Kivisydän underground parking hall (closest exit: Tori) 

• There are other parking areas nearby 

Market Square area: 5 500 m²; Toriparkki parking area (near the Market Square): 2 700 m² 

The Market Square’s surface is pavement; Toriparkki’s surface is asphalt. There is a rock-paved platform between the Square and parking area that can be accessed from both directions. 

• Platform area approximately 9,5 m x 6 m 

• The platform does not have a roof 

• There is a wheelchair ramp on the parking area side of the platform

There is a limited number of technology stations that include water points and wastewater sewers (+ electricity) in the area. The number of stations that can be used depends on the number of market sellers. 

• Electricity can be supplied to the stage: 1x63 A, 1x32 A, 1x 16 A, 3xlighting supply power 

• The four lampposts in the market square can be used to supply electricity (when they are not used by the market sellers): 1x63 A, 3xlighting supply power each 

• Electricity usage must be agreed on with the Oulu City Centre Shopkeeper Association 

• There are Oulun Energia distribution boards nearby that can be used for additional power 

• There are four large lampposts that supply general lighting
