Huutilampi

Huutilampi Pond is located in Heikinharju in a protected area (23 ha) and the pond is surrounded by a forested nature trail of about 1,5 km. The bog surrounding the pond is paludificated and you must be careful around it. The area also includes an environment trail and a forest learning trail. The environment trail branches towards Kuivasjärvi at Huutilampi tangential to the Rusko Waste Management Centre. The forest learning trail crosses the Kalimenoja to Parsiasmaa.

Please note that it is not permitted to drive on the duckboards with a mountain bike, since driving wears out the boards quickly. There are no campfire sites in Huutilampi.

Black-headed gulls, tufted ducks and rare horned grebes flourish on the paludificated bogs. Birds can be spotted on the bird-watching platform in the area.

The nature trail is marked with yellow poles and starts from Heikinharjuntie. It is suitable for school children, and the learning trail is in heavy use by the Nature School. You can easily access the lit trail leading to the Auranmaja Cottage from the area.
