Reviews about 130 projects

The Planning Review displays the land use planning projects that are currently active and will begin during the year, the focus areas of urban development, and current views on how Oulu is being developed and will be built in the future. There are about 130 land use planning projects currently underway in the city, and each are presented in the Review.

“Land use planning and its design play a significant role in what the local environment in Oulu will become”, the city of Oulu’s Director of Land Use Planning Kari Nykänen explains.

During this year, land use planning's primary focus is green transition in master and city plan projects. Oulu pursues significant clean transition vitality projects in, for example, Oritkari, Pyyryväinen, and Hangaskangas. The Oulu city centre’s master plan and wind and solar power master plan are most significant documents in master planning. The experience arena and its environment, as well as private facility projects, are the most significant projects for city planning.
