Eco-support Activities
In January 2012, the City of Oulu launched eco-support activity where volunteers among members of City staff are trained as eco-support persons for workplaces. The activity increases environmental responsibility and awareness, and changes practices in workplaces in a more environmentally friendly direction. Around 300 volunteers in total have been trained by end of 2020. A new basic course is arranged annually, as well as numerous follow-up courses on various topics, e.g. in autumn 2021 chemicals, sustainable development and biodiversity.
