Household water
The quality of household water is under the surveillance of the Environment Office. In Oulu, most of the household water is made of water from the Oulu River. There are eight ground-water outlets in the city area. In other municipalities, ground water is used as household water.
Issues with the quality of household water are reported to the Environment Office and to the telephone service of the local public water works. The area's public water works (Vesilaitokset) are listed in the Environment Office's Talousvesi -website
More information on household water and monitoring regulations can be found on the websites of the National Institute of Health and Welfare (THL) and the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE).
