Waste Management
The Oulu Environment Office oversees compliance with the Waste Act as well as the decrees and regulations on the basis of the act, such as arranging waste management and compliance with the prohibition against littering or contaminating the soil.
Waste management regulations direct the activities of residents and businesses in waste-related matters.
All buildings must subscribe to organised waste collection.
Practical waste management in the Oulu region is the responsibility of the Oulu waste management Kiertokaari, whose website (in Finnish) provides information on duties regarding waste sorting.
