Learner Profile
IB programmes aim to develop internationally-minded people who, recognizing our common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better, more peaceful world. We hope that families will be able to support their children as they, along with the teachers and administrators of the school, strive to be:

| Thinker/Ajattelija | I am thoughtful. I try to solve problems and make good decisions. I do this by thinking about things and by learning from my mistakes. | A group of first graders were trying to make a horse out of snow and ice. The ice-body was too heavy for the soft snow-legs. They thought about it and decided to try using ice for the legs and snow for the body instead. |
| Communicator/Viestijä | I talk about my ideas. I am able to express myself in more than one language. I can also communicate using mathematical language, symbols and drawings. | A group of grade 4 students were chatting over lunch. Although they were Finnish, they spoke mainly in English. When there was a better Finnish word, they used that instead. |
