Children’s Cultural Centre Kotilo is the home of children’s culture in the Central Library Saari.

Kotilo will open on January 16, 2026 – and you are invited! The opening ceremony is held as part of Oulu’s European Capital of Culture year’s grand opening.

Kotilo opens on January 16, 2026

Kotilo’s opening ceremony is held from Friday to Sunday January 16–18, 2026. During the weekend, Kotilo will be open on Friday from 13.00–20.00, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10.00–20.00. Join the most wonderful celebration of the early year!

What and where?

Children’s Cultural Centre Kotilo’s facilities are located on the coming Central Library Saari’s fourth floor. Kotilo’s operations are especially targeted at children under the age of 12 and their families, but also for school and day care centre groups. However, people of all ages are more than welcome to explore Kotilo’s experiential exhibitions.
