Oulu City Library is a free culture service for everyone.
You can read, listen to music and participate in various events in the library.
Oulu City Library consists of the main library and 22 branch libraries, located in various parts of Oulu. In addition there are three mobile libraries which have over 200 mobile library stops.
Oulu City Library is part of OUTI Libraries.
You can obtain a library card by presenting passport or valid ID card. You can use your library card to borrow books, e-books, audio books, magazines, music and films free of charge. The OUTI library collection contains literature in almost 80 languages. Printed and online magazines and newspapers are also available in various languages.
The library staff is happy to help you with any requests, for example locating library material or finding information. You can access the OUTI library database at any time via the Internet.
Oulu City Library organises a wide range of activities, including author and expert visits, exhibitions and literature clubs. Other regular activities include story times, and book talks.
All the libraries in Oulu provide access to the Internet. You can also use the Internet on your own computer or smart device through the wireless panOULU network. In some libraries it is also possible to print, copy, scan and use microfilm readers and play console games.
