Preschool Curriculum

Preschool education adheres to its own curriculum that is founded on national principles and Oulu’s own preschool learning guidelines.  

Child’s own Preschool Learning Plan

A personal preschool learning plan is prepared for each child entering preschool. The plan is prepared together by the preschool teacher, the guardians, and the child. The goal is to create a plan that supports the child’s success and development of self-awareness. Goals to support the child’s individual growth, learning, and wellbeing in preschool education are recorded into the learning plan, as well as key pedagogical methods. The child's strengths and interests are emphasized during the shared conversation.  

Guardians are entitled to at least two private discussions concerning the child’s preschool learning plan during a school year.  

The learning plan is recorded and preserved in the electronic eVaka system.
