Monday 23.2.2026
On Monday our guests arrived at our school. The Estonians came at about 10 am and were with the hosts in lessons. The Latvians, Lithuanians and Swedes came around 4 pm, and we started in the auditorium. After that we got a little snack, and we got to know each other a bit. Then we showed our guests around the school. The day ended around 6 pm when our guests went to their accommodation.
Monday was a good day because we got to know each other a little and finally meet them after waiting for a long time.
Tuesday 24.2.2026
Tuesday started in the auditorium at 9 am when we went through the plans for the day.
The STEAM in Oulu team came to tell us about what they do. We got a chance to work in groups and build our own robots. We made up stories for them and presented our work to others. We also made colorful ice blocks to create our countries’ flags. We took a group picture and ate at the school cafeteria. At about 12 we went to walk around Haukipudas. We visited the wooden church and a flea market, and looked around the area. At the end of the day, Jaana Isohätälä visited our school and told us about her career path and Hätälä Ltd, and our guests gave us presentations on leadership.
The day was fun because we got to do things together and get to know each other better. It was also nice to learn about Hätälä Ltd and more about Haukipudas.
Wednesday 25.2.2026
On Wednesday we went to Linnanmaa in the morning. A bus took us to the University of Oulu. At the university they had arranged workshops for us. We learned about physics, the studies and research, we visited Fablab and had a mathematics workshop. We also ate there. After the visit, our bus took us to Nallikari. We got to walk on the ice, and we were told about the services they offer there. We got warm juice and snack cookies to keep us going until lunch. After that, our bus took us to Pikisaari, and from there we walked to the town hall. In groups we had to look for certain places in the city and answer some questions our teachers had made for us. We also got to visit an exhibition called Earworm. After the activities, we had free time.
Wednesday was a fun day because we had a lot of activities and got to work together. We also visited places we had never been before. The free time in the city was also nice because we got to hang out with friends and the guests. We also learned new things at the university, which was nice.
Thursday 26.2.2026
On Thursday morning we went to the auditorium at 9:00, where we got information about the day’s activities. After the briefing, we went outside to make colorful ice lanterns in the colours of the flags of our countries. After that we had some free time before the next program started. The group was divided into teams, and we had outdoor activities such as skating, snowshoeing, sledding, and spending time in a “kota” cabin where we grilled sausages and marshmallows. The activities ended at around 13:00–14:00. At 17:00 the farewell party for the students from other countries began. There was food, and also chances for karaoke, dancing, and more. The school band performed a few songs. After the farewell party, most students went home, but the Swedish group went to the hotel with their teachers and later that evening left back towards Sweden.
Friday 26.2.2026
On Friday morning the Estonians left around six o’clock to head back to Estonia. Later in the morning, the Latvians and Lithuanians also left for their homes, and after that school days in Finland continued normally.

Maanantai 23.2.2026
Maanantaina vieraat saapuivat koululle. Virolaiset tulivat jo kello 10 aikaan aamulla ja olivat suomalaisten mukana oppitunneilla. Latvialaiset, liettualaiset ja ruotsalaiset saapuivat noin klo 16 aikoihin ja aloitimme viikon auditoriossa. Session jälkeen saimme hieman välipalaa ja tutustuimme toisiimme, minkä jälkeen esittelimme vieraille koulun tiloja. Päivä loppui noin klo 18 aikaan, kun vieraat lähtivät kohti majoituksiaan.
Maanantaissa oli kivaa, kun saatiin hieman tutustua vieraisiimme ja tavata heidät kaikkien valmisteluiden jälkeen.
Tiistai 24.2.2026
Tiistaina päivä alkoi klo 9.00 auditoriossa, jolloin käytiin hieman läpi päivän tapahtumia. STEAM in Oulu -porukka kävi esittäytymässä meille ja kertomassa heidän toiminnastaan. Saimme myös työskennellä ryhmissä ja rakentaa omia robotteja. Niille keksittiin myös tarinat ja ne esiteltiin muille. Teimme myös maitopurkkeihin värikkäitä jääpaloja maiden lippujen tekoa varten. Otimme koko porukan kanssa ryhmäkuvan ja ruokailimme koululla. Noin klo 12 aikoihin suuntasimme kiertämään ympäri Haukipudasta. Kävimme kirkossa ja kirpputorilla sekä katselimme ympärillemme. Päivän lopuksi Jaana Isohätälä kävi esittelemässä meille urapolkuaan ja Hätälä oy:n toimintaa. Lopuksi vieraamme pitivät meille tekemiään esitelmiä teemasta johtajuus.
Päivä oli mukava, koska pääsimme tekemään asioita yhdessä ja tutustumaan entistä enemmän toisiimme. Oli myös kiva oppia uusia asioita Hätälän toiminnasta sekä Haukiputaan ympäristöstä.
Keskiviikko 25.2.2026
Keskiviikkona suuntasimme heti aamusta kohti Linnanmaata. Bussi kuljetti meidät ensimmäiseksi lukiolta Oulun yliopistolle. Yliopistolla meille oli järjestetty työpajoja. Saimme tutustua fysiikan opintoihin ja tutkimustoimintaan, kävimme Fablabissa ja matematiikan työpajassa. Ruokailimme myös paikan päällä. Yliopistovierailun jälkeen bussi kuljetti meidät kohti Nallikaria. Pääsimme kävelemään jäällä, ja meille kerrottiin millaisia palveluita paikan päältä saa. Meille tarjottiin myös kuumaa mehua ja välipalakeksejä, jotta jaksoimme ennen syömään pääsemistä. Vierailun jälkeen bussi vei meidät Pikisaareen, josta kävelimme kaupungintalolle. Kaupungintalolla meidät jaettiin ryhmiin. Ryhmän kanssa meidän piti etsiä Oulussa sijaitsevia kohtia ja vastata kysymyksiin paikkojen perusteella. Saimme myös käydä vuorollamme Korvamato -näyttelyssä. Aktiviteettien jälkeen meillä oli vapaa-aikaa.
Keskiviikko oli mukava päivä, koska meille oli paljon aktiviteetteja ja saimme toimia yhdessä. Pääsimme myös tutustumaan paikkoihin, joihin emme olleet välttämättä ennen päässeet. Vapaa ilta oli myös kiva, koska saimme viettää aikaa niin kavereiden, kuin myös vieraiden kanssa. Opimme paljon uutta esimerkiksi yliopistosta, mikä oli kiva asia.
Torstai 25.2.2026
Torstaiaamu lähti käyntiin klo 9.00 auditoriossa, jossa jaettiin infoa päivän tulevista tapahtumista. Infotilaisuuden jälkeen siirryttiin ulos tekemään värikkäistä jääpaloista maiden liput. Tämän jälkeen oli jonkin verran taukoa, kunnes seuraava ohjelma alkoi. Porukka jaettiin ryhmiin, jossa he saivat kierrellä eri pisteitä ulkona. Oli luistelua, lumikenkäilyä, pulkkamäki ja kota, jossa sai paistaa makkaraa ja vaahtokarkkeja. Pisteet loppuivat n. 13.00-14.00 aikaan, jonka jälkeen oli vapaa-aikaa. Klo. 17.00 alkoi farewell party. Tarjolla ruokaa sekä mahdollisuus karaokeen, just danceen ym. Koulun bändi esitti muutaman kappaleen. Farewell partyn jälkeen muut menivät vielä majoittajien kanssa kotiin, mutta ruotsalaiset menivät opettajiensa kanssa hotellille. He lähtivät myöhään illalla takaisin kohti Ruotsia.
Perjantai 26.2.2026
Perjantaina aamulla virolaiset lähtivät kuuden aikaan matkaan takaisin kohti Viroa. Myöhemmin aamupäivästä latvialaiset ja liettualaisetkin lähtivät kotimatkalle, minkä jälkeen Suomessa koulupäivät jatkuivat normaalisti.
